Which K-Pop stars are the most searched for by fans on Google in 2021 so far? Kpop Idol Charts on Twitter has compiled a mid-year chart of the top idols with the most Google searches worldwide, so let’s count down our favourite 20 who come out on top!
1. Jungkook (BTS)
BTS’s Jungkook topped this year’s brand reputation rankings, coming in first overall with an index score of 600 and ranking No. 1 among male idols. Earlier this year, Jungkook set a record when his solo live broadcast surpassed 22 million simultaneous viewers!
2. V (BTS)
BTS’s V scored 563.64 according to his overall index score. If all goes well, fans expect V’s highly anticipated mixtape to finally be released this year.
3. Jimin (BTS)
Pop sensation and chart-topping artist BTS’s Jimin came in third place with a brand reputation index score of 409.09. As of June, he has also topped the overall brand reputation rankings for over 30 consecutive months.
4. Cha Eunwoo (ASTRO)
ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo is ranked fourth among male idols, earning him the reputation of being a multi-talented artist. Aside from gaining even more popularity on tvN’s True Beauty and appearing in director Han Jun Hee’s film ‘Decibel’, Cha Eunwoo will also continue to shine as a solo singer with ASTRO’s new album this year as well!
5. Suga (BTS)
BTS’s Suga has ranked 5th among male idols in a recent ranking and has an index score of 303. This year, Suga’s collaboration with IU for the song “eight” earned the duo a Gaon Chart Music Award. In addition, his album D-2 became the most-streamed Korean soloist album on Spotify.
6. Jin (BTS)
BTS member Jin recently managed to rank 6th among male idols and 8th overall in an index score of 218.18. However, according to Lee Kyung Kyu, known as the “Godfather” of South Korea’s entertainment industry, he himself was revealed that he wants to be a part of a movie project with the popular idol in it.
7. RM (BTS)
BTS’s RM ‘Ranked 7th among male idols and 11th overall with an index score of 181.82’. However, RM continues to create awesome music this year, collaborating with eAeon in April for a track titled ‘Don’t’.
8. J-Hope (BTS)
BTS’s J-Hope ranked 8th among male idols with the highest net worths in South Korea and 13th overall with a score of 163.64. Indeed this was one of J-Hope’s many highlights, donating KRW 250 million (about $222,000) to various foundations this year alone.
G-Dragon has been named a hot commodity by popular Korean media platform ‘Dispatch’. His fame is rising not only in South Korea but also overseas. His status as an international star was elaborated on particularly by Chinese media. Fans are hoping for his solo comeback this year after promoting with Big Bang for a while now.
10. Hyunjin (Stray Kids)
Stray Kids’ Hyunjin is a fantastic idol singer. He was ranked amongst the top 10 Male Idol Singers and 15th Best Overall, with 81.82 scores. This month, he returned to Stray Kids’ new music video as part of his return to activities.
11. Baekhyun (EXO)
EXO’s Baekhyun ranked 11th among male idols and 16th overall, with an index score of 72.73, which is no small feat anytime. Still, it really stands out when you consider he drew in 110,000 viewers for his first solo concert and earned 2 successful albums before enlisting in the military!
12. Chanyeol (EXO)
EXO’s Chanyeol scored 15 in the popularity index, ranking him 10th among idols and 11th overall. The idol-actor first started the reality talent show SuperStar SM before rising to fame as a member of EXO, one of K-pop’s biggest acts with hits such as “Growl” and “Overdose.”
13. Jackson (GOT7)
The former JYP Entertainment artist placed 13th among male idols and 19th overall. Known for his work in the K-Pop industry, Jackson appeared on U.S. late-night television following his newest English single, “LMLY”.
14. Jaehyun (NCT)
NCT’s Jaehyun ranked 14th among male idols and 22nd overall, achieving 56 on the brand reputation index. Known for his television debut as Kim Jinwoo in KBS2‘s Dear. M, Jaehyun is expected to release his first-ever acting work through the drama television series later this year.
15. Jonghyun (SHINee)
SHINee’s Jonghyun boasts an impressive 55 index score on the Brand Reputation Ranking. Furthermore, after SHINee performed at the 3rd Shiny Arts Festival, he received 9th place for the male idol brand reputation rankings! Tho, we miss you, Jonghyun.

SHINee’s Taemin ranked 17th among male idols and 26th overall, with an index score of 49. Sadly for fans, Taemin began his mandatory military service this year. Still, he did not go uncelebrated in advance of his departure as he was able to release his acclaimed third mini-album last month, Advice.
18. Lucas (NCT)
NCT’s Lucas has consistently ranked within the top 40 polling rankings for male idols and comes in at the 18th spot with an index score of 47. This year, Lucas continues his impressive streak among male idols by reprising his cast member role on the Chinese SBS Running Man spin-off, ZRTG‘s Keep Running.
19. Sehun (EXO)
EXO’s Sehun ranked 19th among all male idols and 10th among boy groups. He ranked 30th overall with an index score of 47.5, which combines SNS scores (Weibo count) and variety show appearances. This year, he will appear in K-drama as a supporting role in Now, We Are Breaking Up.
20. Taeyong (NCT)
NCT’s Taeyong’s snagged a spot on the list of idols -– ranking in 20th place among male idols and 31st overall with an index score of 46.1 this year. The idol opened up his own Soundcloud account and released several demo singles accompanied by collaborations with his fellow labelmates earlier this year.
