On September 28th, it was announced that the cast of “Island” consisted of Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo of ASTRO and Sung Joon. The show is set for premiere this October. The team responsible for the show consists of Bae Jong, who previously directed “Fabricated City” with Jang Yoon Mi responsible for writing scenarios.
“Island”, an upcoming drama, is based on the original webtoon created by Naver Webtoon writer Yang Kyung Il and In-wan Yoon. The show will be set on an island, where characters are bound to fight against evil and keep their society intact despite all the chaos around them.
We’re very excited to introduce you to four great upcoming actors working on The Guardians! First up, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo will play the role of John/Kang Chan Hyuk, a metaphorical hip Catholic exorcist. Next, Lee Da Hee will be taking on the part of Won Mi Ho, the only daughter and heiress of Daehan Group. She was relocated to Cheok-do island, where she is now teaching at the local high school. Finally, Kim Nam Gil will portray Van, a person destined to protect the world, while Sung Joon will play Gung Tan, raised as a slayer to defeat evil.
Apart from this drama, Actor Cha Eun Woo will also star in a new T.V. series this fall called ‘Sweet and Sour Chicken.’ In addition to his upcoming movie, “Decibel,” he’ll be acting alongside Kim Rae Won and Lee Jong Suk.
After three years, Kim Nam Gil will finally be returning to the screen with his role in “Island: Season 1.” The actor last starred in the hit 2019 drama “The Fiery Priest”. He will also appear in other upcoming dramas such as “Through the Darkness,” “The Fiery Priest 2,” “Thief,” and more.
This drama will be Lee Da Hee’s next role, after “L.U.C.A.: The Beginning.” She joins the cast alongside Kim Rae Won, Kim Sung Oh, Kim Sang Ho, Jung Da Eun, Park Hyuk Kwon and more!
Meanwhile, Sung Joon’s return to television since he got discharged from his military service. The actor was last on-screen in “2021 Summer Drama Collage: Monster Mansion” this year. He last starred on a network drama in 2017 with the series “Ms. Perfect.”
