Korean BL Web Dramas To Be Released In 2023

Korean BLs made a big splash in the BL world back in 2020 with hits like “Where Your Eyes Linger” and other great releases. In 2021, there were plenty of other great Korean BL dramas released. But the genre really blew up worldwide in 2022, with a ton of new releases. And it looks like 2023 is shaping up to be another great year for BL fans.

Here’s our list of all the Korean BL dramas announced for 2023. Some of these dramas don’t have much information available yet, but we’ll try to keep this list updated as new details are released.

Korean BL Dramas 2023

1. “Follow the Wind”

Summary: “Follow the Wind” is a music romance story about a band’s dreams of making it big. The band’s manager, HanTae, is determined to make them a success. However, the band members are each struggling with their own personal issues. Can they overcome these obstacles and achieve their dreams?

The web drama is based on the webtoon of the same title by Geomdong and JUSTOON.

2. “Bon Appetit”

Summary: “Bon Appetit” is about a romance between an office worker and his neighbour who cooks well.

3. “Unintentional Love Story”

Summary: “Unintentional Love Story” is a romantic comedy about a relationship that begins with a lie but finally blooms into true love.

It is based on PB’s webtoon “Unintentional Love Story” (“비의도적 연애담” in Korean”), which he wrote and illustrated.

4. “Love Tractor”

Summary: SeonYool, a man from the city, visits the countryside and meets YeChan, a country boy who loves it there. They fall in love with each other, but their relationship is not easy because they have different backgrounds and lifestyles.

The web drama adaptation of the webtoon “Semantic Error” by AngryMonster and HmmYongYong will be produced by the same production team.

5. “Secret Relationship”

Summary: DaOn is a resourceful and hardworking employee trying to improve his financial situation. His frugal ways often annoy his co-worker Seong Hyun, who hates him. However, after an incident with JaeMin’s parents, DaOn and SeongHyun become closer. With all of his mixed-up emotions and secrets, what will happen to DaOn?

The web drama is based on the webtoon of the same name written by McQueen STUDIO.

6. “A Shoulder to Cry On”

Summary: Due to TaeHyun’s joke, DaYeol is falsely accused of attacking him. DaYeol’s athletic career is in danger because of the false accusation. He asks TaeHyun to explain the truth, but sooner, he discovers he is getting swayed by him.

The web drama is based on the webtoon of the same title by DongMul.

7. “Eccentric Romance”

Summary: Sung Hoon and Jay are two friends who meet in college and fall in love. However, their relationship is put to the test when they encounter a mysterious murder case and have to look for the culprit. Can their friendship survive this ordeal?

The same company that produced “The Peach of Time” is in charge of a second Thai-Korean BL drama called “Eccentric Romance.”

8. “Starstruck”

Summary: The story is about two friends, Jo WooJae and Seo HyunJun, who have been close since middle school. For years, Seo HyunJun has been hiding his one-sided love for Jo WooJae, thinking that Jo WooJae will never love him back. But one day, Seo HyunJun saw his gift under Jo WooJae’s feet and confessed his feelings to him out of anger.

“The BL web novel “Starstruck” (“스타스트럭”) by Ha TaeJin is a story about two young men who fall in love.”

9. “Happy Merry Ending”

Summary: SeungJun and JaeHyun are two friends who reconnect through music. The story revolves around how music brings them back together and helps them heal each other’s wounds.

“Happy Merry Ending” is a BL web drama based on the popular webtoon of the same name (“해피메리엔딩” in Korean). The show follows the adventures of a group of friends as they navigate their way through love, life, and everything in between.

10. “Why R U”

Summary: The Korean remake drama of the Thai BL of the same title. The drama begins with Zon’s story. Zon’s sister wishes for him to live in a BL world, and he starts to imagine he fell into one. He eventually falls for Saifah, but most of the drama is about Tutor and Fighter. They begin as each other’s arch-nemesis but develop a close relationship later.

11. “HeeSu In Class 2”

Summary: The drama is based on the same-named popular webtoon. The plot revolves around HeeSu, a regular 18-year-old guy, and his neighbour, who has a secret. Readers have enjoyed this particular webtoon for its lighthearted and refreshing take on young love.

12. “Bump Up Business”

Summary: This is the story of Eden, a fifth-year trainee about to debut as an idol, and JiHoon, a celebrity from the same agency. Both have trouble expressing their true feelings, but they manage to find love for each other.

Summary: This story is about an intern who falls in love with his office manager. Lee Jun is an idol who becomes an intern, and Choi Jun is the office manager. They fall in love and must navigate their new relationship while working together.

Summary: Love is like a cat is a Thai-Korean romance about P’Uno, who suffered trauma and is now afraid of animals, and Lee DaeByeol, a kindergarten director.

Summary: This is the second season of “Love class”, a love story between two classmates. This season, the two main characters will face new challenges as they navigate their relationship.

16. “Wuju Bakery”

Summary: Wuju Bakery is a Thai-Korean collaboration that is set to be filmed in Korea this summer. After a spaceship crash in a bakery, the boss of the spaceship encounters the owner of the bakery, and a chaotic life begins for the both of them. At the same time, other aliens who hid in different parts of the city are looking for them.

17. “Our Dating Sim”

Summary: This drama follows the story of what happens when two old friends from school days meet again at work. Together, they create a dating simulation game.
